Ascent Top

A beautifully soft and slightly different take on an everyday knit, the Ascent Top combines a super-soft knitted body with statement fabric sleeves.

With a simple round neckline and a slightly more fitted body, the shape is balanced by generous balloon sleeves, gathered gently in at the wrist to create a lovely, softly sculptural shape. The fabric sleeves are made in the same fabric as our Cuthbert Trousers, so you can wear the two together to create a relaxed, considered little set.

Knitted in the same wonderfully soft yarn as our Daydream Cardigan and Cross Sweater, the Ascent feels lovely against the skin while the fabric sleeves give it a little more structure and character.

It looks equally good dressed up with the matching Cuthbert Trousers or simply worn with your favourite jeans. An easy piece with just enough of a twist to make it feel special.

Pilling or blobbing is an inherent characteristic of all-natural fibres. Refresh your woollen garments with a pilling comb, removing any bobbles or fuzz as it forms.

Hand wash only in cold water. Use a delicates hand wash detergent. Pulsate gently, do not rub, giving your knit a gentle squeeze. Once done, roll in a clean towel to remove excess water and then dry flat.

Designed and constructed in England, Pilgrimage is the new collection from The Make Shed

Pilgrimage is a collection inspired by my love of walking — by the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other and giving yourself a little space to think.

It’s about slowing down, getting back to basics and finding a bit of peace and perspective along the way. We’ve used beautiful natural fabrics, British wool, textured yarns and our own hand-designed linen/wool mix, with pieces designed to be lived in, layered and worn for years.

There’s something quite grounding about making clothes slowly and thoughtfully, and that’s very much at the heart of this collection.
